Always a fantastic place to walk around and see what local gardeners have worked so hard on. This is a gem of the community. Anytime we come across a gardener at their plot, they’re always excited to share what it growing and how their plants came to be.

A big deal for the local as this space offers so much activities for the entire family and for those who hate families too, they got gyms, squash, pool, inflatable castle, playgrounds and a bunch of other things. Our girls do swim lessons here, some people reserve the birthday room too.

Largest public all-organic vegetable and fruit 🍓 garden on the East Coast. 175 plots, rented yearly for $60 (Alexandria residents) Twice a year, the garden board organizes a potluck picnic at the big pavilion. Most recent was April 29. Fabulous food. Next is Aug 24, 2024 at noon. And every Saturday during the summer, a group of gardeners harvest crops and deliver them to Mother of Light food bank, for distribution to hungry families.

This is a popular place to walk through, many locals choose this site as their preferred dog-walk route. It also adjoins a small woodland park. On a typically hot and humid summer day, this place offers cooling shade and a paved pathway for easy navigation, including on bike. It also offers a running loop which the nearby TC Williams cross-country teams regularly use in season. Plenty of parking.
